Aced!

Gosh, I love waking up for class. I actually think to myself at 6:45 every morning, "I'm so excited to start class today." Cutting hair is really fun, especially when you do it correctly. I am also very thankful for Micah. He volunteers himself as a guinea pig every time I learn a new technique I can use on him. Yesterday, it didn't go as smoothly as I would have wished. I kind of buzzed off a part at his crown, and it looks pretty bald. Of course, as I do, I burst into tears when I realized what I had done, and he was so level-headed and patient with me until I calmed down. He promised that he didn't mind, and that he was happy that I got to learn on him, and that he usually wears a hat anyway. Seriously.

Yeah. He's a keeper.
Anyway, I didn't do damage today. In fact, I really excelled today, which is always something that feels good. Yesterday, we had started a 180 degree cut, and the random IBS mannequin I was halfway done with yesterday had gone missing this morning. Instead of wasting more time looking and whining about it, I took Kibbles, sprayed her down, and began cutting. The other girls were already halfway done with their cuts, so I felt extra motivated to get quicker at cutting. Not only did I finish before most of the other students, but Maggie said that I had done an excellent job and used Kibbles as an example to the class. I felt awesome :)

I finished today with a test over Shampoo, Conditioner and the Scalp. Um yeah, 100% baby. Aced.

I've been making lots of friends, although I never was any good with names. The girls are all really nice, and are always happy to help if you need it. Some of them are also moving up to Portland after they acquire their hair license, so I might even get to keep some hair friends after I move!

Love,
Kelsey
